Suwanee, Ga– After falling short to their relatively new rival, Mountain View, last season the Eagles entered Friday night’s game with the determination to get a win.
And that’s exactly what they did. Mountain View’s defense struggled to stop Collins Hill’s run game and gave up a total of 239 rushing yards. Senior Evan Anderson accounted for 166 of those yards and 3 of Collins Hill’s touchdowns.
During the fourth quarter the Bears found themselves down by two touchdowns. They attempted a comeback and cut the Eagles’ lead to a single touchdown. However, multiple penalties and an interception by Collins Hill’s Chandler Black allowed the Eagles to capitalize.
Following Collins Hill’s 29-21 win quarterback Jon Michael Findlay explained how great it was to finally get a big win against a talented team. He said, “It gives us a lot of confidence and gets our community excited as we head into the biggest part of the season”.
The Eagles’, now 3-1 in region, have a bye next week and then will face another conference opponent, North Gwinnett.
