Maddie Schmidt is a University of Florida journalism graduate. She has a specialization in sports and media and an outside concentration in event management. Schmidt is a self-starter with a passion for sports and storytelling. She is an extremely organized communicator with experience both strategizing content and creating it.

Schmidt is eager to grow, learn and make her mark in this industry.

Currently, Schmidt is freelancing as she pursues full-time employment opportunities in the sports industry. She is currently working for Blue Wire Podcast’s LA Chargers podcast, “Guilty As Charged.” Schmidt produces short form videos, conducts interviews and directs some of GAC’s social media content. She serves as a contact for media requests and strategizes content that stays true to the Blue Wire brand.

Schmidt is also a freelance digital host and social media coordinator for BetUS.

In addition, she has her own podcast, Trash the Game Plan. The podcast is all about keeping it real. Maddie talks candidly about sports, food, fitness and life. You’ll be entertained and, maybe, even inspired.

In the past, Schmidt has interned with The Draft Network in video production as a digital host. She has also worked with GatorBait Media and The Buddy Martin Show. She served as both a sports reporter and podcaster. Her show, “Maddie’s Minute”, can be found on https://www.gatorbaitmedia.com/.

Schmidt has also served as a multimedia journalist and reporter for ESPN Gainesville/WRUF-FM. In addition, she was a sports anchor and producer for WUFT News.

When Schmidt is not covering a sporting event, you’re likely to find her at the gym or an ice cream shop. She’s an exercise fanatic with a huge sweet tooth.
